U.S. Legion of Merit Commander Degree Medal
U.S. Legion of Merit medal in the Commander style, featuring the distinctive white enameled five-point star with crimson edging, green wreath detail, and central blue medallion with white stars. The reverse reads “United States of America” with the central motto “Annuit Coeptis MDCCLXXXII.” The Legion of Merit was established during World War II and is one of the few U.S. decorations issued in multiple degrees, often associated with award to senior Allied or foreign military personnel.
