Rare WWII Japanese Officer’s Tropical Coat w/ Mum Buttons
Rare WWII Japanese officer’s tropical service coat retaining its original insignia and distinctive chrysanthemum (mum) buttons throughout. Constructed in lightweight khaki material for warm climate use, this style of tunic is strongly associated with Imperial Japanese Army officer service in the Pacific theater. The coat features red collar tabs with rank stars, matching sleeve insignia, and a classic multi-pocket field cut. Particularly desirable is the presence of the original officer-grade buttons, each displaying the Imperial chrysanthemum motif, adding strong collector appeal and period character to the piece. A scarce and visually impressive Japanese uniform item with excellent display presence, representing the officer class of the Imperial Japanese military during the Second World War.
