German WWII DAF Labor Front EM/NCO belt buckle featuring the DAF cogwheel and swastika emblem to the front. This steel example is maker marked “A&S” on the reverse. F.W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid was one of the most prolific manufacturers of German WW2 militaria, producing uniform buttons, buckles, and combat/qualification badges. The Deutsche Arbeitsfront, or German Labor Front, was one of the largest organizations in Germany during the period, replacing independent trade unions and serving as the state-controlled labor organization. DAF belt buckles are a recognizable and collectible part of German political and labor organization uniform insignia.
