Edo Period Japanese Samurai Iron Abumi Stirrup with Clan Marking
Edo period Japanese samurai iron stirrup, known as an abumi, representing a distinctive form of traditional Japanese horse equipment. Abumi were used by mounted samurai and are immediately recognizable for their broad foot platform, curved side form, and suspended upper loop.
This example shows iron construction with aged surface wear, remnants of interior finish visible in the foot bed area, and a visible clan marking, adding further collector interest and research appeal. A strong display piece for collectors of Japanese samurai armor, Edo period horse tack, military antiques, and traditional Japanese equestrian equipment.
