Austro-Hungarian 1898 Franz Joseph I Jubilee Medal – Signum Memoriae
Bronze Austro-Hungarian Jubilee Medal issued in 1898 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I’s accession to the throne. Also known as the Signum Memoriae, this example is suspended from the red triangular ribbon associated with the armed-forces version of the award. The obverse features a uniformed portrait of Franz Joseph I surrounded by his imperial titles. The medal retains an attractive aged bronze finish, with surface wear and patina consistent with age and handling.
