1941 NSDAP Wochenspruch Poster – Albert Leo Schlageter Quote
German WWII NSDAP “Wochenspruch der NSDAP” weekly quotation propaganda poster, featuring a quotation attributed to Albert Leo Schlageter.
The Wochenspruch der NSDAP, or “NSDAP Weekly Quotation,” was a series of propaganda display prints issued for public posting throughout Germany. These posters paired selected historical, political, and literary quotations with bold graphic design for use in offices, schools, workplaces, and other public spaces.
The German text reads:
“Sei, was Du willst, aber was Du bist, habe den Mut ganz zu sein.”
Literal translation:
“Be what you will, but what you are, have the courage to be entirely.”
This example is marked along the lower margin as Wochenspruch der NSDAP, Folge 22, dated 25.–31. Mai 1941, and published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, München. The design uses a clean typographic layout with blue accent lettering, giving the piece a restrained but striking visual presence within the Wochenspruch series.
